Your email address
Your account. You sign in with a code we email you and stay signed in on that browser or computer until you sign out. It is used to sign you in and for nothing else.
Children
Brickworks accounts are for people 13 and over, and Brickworks keeps no personal information about anyone under 13. Everyone is asked once, at their first sign-in, when they were born, and the date is never kept. An answer under 13 deletes the account at once, with its email address and the count of sign-in codes sent to it; the browser or computer keeps only that it was told, nothing about the person, so it says so at once the next time. A younger builder builds with a parent or guardian, signed in with the adult’s own email. If you think somebody under 13 has an account, tell us through Feedback and we delete it.
Signing in with orangecheck
If you sign in with orangecheck instead, it is orangecheck’s own window you sign in to, with a Bitcoin wallet, email, Google or GitHub; Brickworks never learns which, nor your address or your wallet. It is given an id for you (did:oc: and 32 characters), kept with your account so the same id signs you in to it again, and for each sign-in orangecheck’s handle for it, so that signing out everywhere on orangecheck signs you out here too. Such an account has no email address: Brickworks emails it nothing, and it is deleted by signing in with orangecheck again. An account with an email address can link orangecheck under Settings, after a code we email you, and unlink it there; we email you when either happens. orangecheck keeps its own account of you, under its own privacy policy.
Signing in with your email, you may tick Also create my orangecheck account under the orangecheck button. Only then, Brickworks asks orangecheck to make you an orangecheck account, and sends it your Brickworks account’s id and, since you have just signed in with a code we emailed you, that address, as one you showed is yours: signing in to ochk.app with it then offers you the account to claim. orangecheck keeps an id for you made from your Brickworks id, and of the address only a keyed hash; Brickworks keeps the orangecheck id it gives back. Unticked, nothing is sent. Deleting your Brickworks account deletes that orangecheck account too, unless you have claimed it at ochk.app, when it is yours to keep or delete there. If orangecheck will not delete it (once it holds something of yours, say), your Brickworks account is deleted all the same and you are told that the orangecheck account stays yours at ochk.app.
Your API key
Kept in your browser, or for this visit only, and sent only to Anthropic. The page’s security policy lets it talk to itself, Anthropic, Wikimedia for reference pictures, Rebrickable, Brickognize when you ask it to name a part from a photo, its own parts store and sign-in service, and the visit counter below, and nothing else.
A photo to find a part
The camera in the parts search sends the one photo you choose straight from your browser to Brickognize, a separate service that names LEGO® parts from pictures; Brickworks never sees or keeps it. Their terms let them keep what is sent to them and learn from it, so the app says so before the first photo goes, and nothing is sent until you choose one.
Your Claude login
Never asked for. Claude signs in to Brickworks as you, with your email code and your Allow, and holds a Brickworks token, never the other way round. Disconnect Claude under Account ends it everywhere at once. That you connected Claude, and when, is kept past it, so connecting again sends you to the Brickworks you already have in Claude.
Your conversations
A small relay carries Claude’s tool calls to your open tab and the answers back, and deletes each message the moment it is answered. Claude’s tokens are kept only as hashes.
Your models
Saved in your browser or on your computer and, while you are signed in, kept with your account on the server too, so they open wherever you sign in. Only you can open them there, and deleting your account deletes them. A model is put online for others only when you share it by link, and taken down when you say.
A photo you add on a model’s page, of your build, or on your own model of the model itself, is public on that page. It is made anew from its pixels, so nothing else in the file is kept: not where or when it was taken, nor the phone. A model’s designer can hide any photo on their model.
Your public page
If you make a profile, its page shows the name, handle and words you chose, and the models you shared in the gallery with your name. You can add up to two links of yours elsewhere, choose one of those models’ pictures to run across the top and pin up to three of them; all of it is public, kept on the server with your account, and changed or cleared under Settings. Your picture there is made from your handle, a coloured circle and a letter, unless you choose one of your own in Edit profile: then only the circle you cropped it to leaves your device, and it is made anew from its pixels, as a photo of a build is, so nothing else in the file is kept. It is public wherever your name is, and deleted when you take it off or choose another. Links on it are marked as yours, not ours, and a visitor who follows one leaves Brickworks. Who follows you is never listed, only how many, and the same for a public collection of yours: how many follow it, never who, and you are not told. A profile’s More like suggests designers whose models share themes, tags and parts with its own; who follows whom only orders that list, and is never shown. Which models you liked is shown only if you choose it under Settings, as a Likes tab on your page; it is off until you turn it on.
Your notifications
What happens to your models (comments, photos of builds, remixes, likes, a challenge’s end) is shown to you alone, on Notifications. To say what is new, Brickworks keeps when you last opened it and which of your models’ notifications you have opened since, with your account and nothing else. Likes are told as a number: who liked your model is never shown, and nobody is told who follows them.
Your theme
System, Light or Dark, chosen at the foot of any page. Kept in your browser so the next page opens in it, and, once you are signed in, on your account so your other browsers follow it. A setting, not tracking: nothing else is kept with it, and nobody else sees it.
Plans, coming soon
If you ask on Plans to hear when Pro opens, your email is kept with monthly or yearly, as you chose, and any line you wrote, only to write to you once when Pro opens. Nothing else is sent to it, and it is not tied to an account. To stop floods, where the form was sent from is counted for a day, as a key nobody can turn back into your address. To take your email off, open the form there, type the address and choose take it off: it is deleted at once.
Paying for Pro
If you pay for Pro, you pay Link (Sold through Link, LLC, an affiliate of Stripe), which takes your card and billing address on its own page and keeps them under its privacy policy; Brickworks never sees your card. Admission, the service that runs Brickworks’ plans, keeps your account’s id with your plan, your subscription and your invoices, and the email address you paid with, so the plan follows your account.
Before you pay, what you agreed to is kept: your account’s id, the plan, the price and how often, the words you agreed to, and when; no address. The laws on renewals ask that it can be shown later, so it is kept four years, even after you delete your account. Deleting your account ends your Pro and erases you at Admission before anything else goes.
The beta
If you apply to the beta, your application is kept with your account: what you would build, which AI you use, your LEGO® or CAD background and your line about it, the link you gave, that you agreed to the terms and to our emails, and when. It is there so we can choose testers and write to you about the beta. With it the server keeps what it works out when you apply, and reads from your account when the owner looks: whether your email address is confirmed, how old the account is, whether the address is at a known throwaway domain, whether another account reads as the same inbox, whether you have kept or shared a model, and whether the form looks filled in. That is advice to the owner, who decides; nothing is decided by it. No IP address is kept.
Only the site’s owner sees an application, with who decided it and when. We email you, through Resend, that we have it, what we decided, when your month starts if it waits for Pro, and three days before it ends; each email is kept as sent. A tester’s month of Pro is given at Admission, the service that runs Brickworks’ plans, under your account’s id. Your application is deleted with your account; one we decline is erased 90 days after.
Your feedback
When you send us feedback, from the site or from the app, we keep what you wrote and what it is (something wrong, an idea or a question), where you sent it from, and when; signed in, it is kept with your account, and signed out, with the email address you gave so we can answer. Only what you choose goes with it: a picture (one you choose or take, made smaller and stripped of everything but the picture), and, if you tick them, the page and your browser, or in the app its version, your system, the model you have open as a file and the app’s last log lines, every one of which you can read before you send. No IP address is kept; to stop one place sending hundreds, the server counts what came from it for a day under a key it cannot turn back into the address.
Only the site’s owner reads a report, with any note they keep on it. An answer is emailed to you through Resend and kept with the report. Signed in, you see your reports, where each stands and our answers on your settings page. Your reports and what came with them are deleted with your account; a report sent signed out, or one we have closed, is erased a year after it last changed.
Deleting your account
On your account, under Settings: Delete this account, with your address typed to confirm (an orangecheck account signs in with orangecheck again instead). The account goes, and with it everything of yours on the server: the models you shared and their versions, comments, favourites, collections, follows, the photos of your builds and of your models, your profile’s links, banner, pins and picture, the sets you own, your Claude connections, your theme, what you read of your notifications, your orangecheck id, your beta application and your feedback. It cannot be undone.
Your visit
We count visits with our own privacy-friendly analytics. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device; your IP address is used only to make a daily anonymous count and is never stored. To opt out on this site, open any page with ?ov_ignore=1. Shared models, people’s pages and signing in are never counted.
